improving audio quality?
i've been finishing up my bridget jones/pride & prejudice remix movie trailer. there are still some issues with the sound quality. i tried grabbing the audio off the FRAPs version--that was really lousy. then i tried using a microphone to record the audio. that improved the quality a little...i've heard the soundtrack so many times, i practically know it by heart. listening to it the first time, however, people might have a hard time understanding it.
anybody have any other suggestions for improving the sound quality???

Have you tried locating your audio recording software on your computer and recording the sound that way (i.e., through the guts of your machine, rather than using an external mike)? If I have time tonight I'll muck around with a DVD here and see what I can find out. Did you try downloading Audacity and seeing if that will record?
good suggestions! by internal recorder, so you mean the "in-line" mike? if so, we did try that with zero success. i'll check out audacity as soon as i get a chance. thanks.
Nop, not the mike--recording inside the computer (I'm not explaining this very well... the process is like using Fraps, but for audio). I emailed my brother-in-law and he suggests using a cable with a plug/pin in each end (he calls is a 3.5" plug); "Plug one end into the headphone socket and the other into the mic socket and provided the PC doesn't make any bleeps or whatnot" you sould be able to record sound that way, using recording software. He also mentions, "You just need software that can record clips that are long enough (the standard Windows software only manages short clips)." He's also going to ask his mates who are techies to see if they have additional suggestions.
