Try This (Converting YouTube Videos)

These are the steps I followed to copy videos from YouTube: Go to vixy.net, cut/paste the URL from the YouTube video you want to download to vixy. Choose the type of conversion you require (AVI for Windows, MOV for Mac, etc.), click Start. The video will download, then you can drag it to your movie editor. Good Luck!

Excellent going, Mirijana--just make sure that you're placing all your clips and bits and pieces in the one folder first, before you import them into your video editor, otherwise you might have trouble saving you project as a movie at the end.

Thank you. I was just going to research this myself and your advice will save me oodles of time and aggravation.

Thanks, Michele -- I'll do that. Joan: I noticed upon reading back in the blog that some have said this procedure didn't work for all their videos (perhaps there were additional steps, etc.), but for me it works and it's sruprisingly easy. Good luck!

You're right it didn't. All I received was the sound recording. The picture just transfered as green bars. I checked my media player setting and they seem to be all in order but I will read and continue troubleshooting .
Thanks for the reply.

Well, yes by adding the flv. to my downloaded video, as suggested my Michele, I was finally able to view both the video clip and hear the audio from the Youtube transfer. But, how do I transfer it to my pc movie maker? It keeps saying something about a codec problem. Does anyone have any ideas. I tried saving as avi., mpeg, mvp., nothing is working. I even downloaded a file converter and still nothing seems to work. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
