I dragged a song onto my desktop and then into the movie maker but it only worked for certain songs so I guess there is a better way. Sorry I can't help more.
It's going to depend on whether your bought the clip from iTunes store--in which case, it's going to be DRM protected and you can't use it without downloading "unlocking" software which I'm not allowed to talk about in my current role 'cause this kind of conversion is considered illegal in certain circles. See Larry's earlier response to a question posed by Will for an alternative method that works very well, too.
I had the same problem and I burnt the song/songs I needed onto a CD. Then, I put them back onto my computer and it worked fine. Hope that helped.....it was originally Larry's idea.
