Second Life = Movie
Has anyone made a movie using Second Life? Rachel, Theresa, Kelly and I figured out how to take snapshots and email them to ourselves. Has anyone used these in a movie? Can you do moving images as well?

Yes, it's possible to film footage in Second Life. I'd really like everyone to explore this movie-making option, actually, because it's a useful thing to know about and to know how to do.
Option 1: Use he in-built video recording functions that comes with your Second Life client software that you downloaded to you harddrive. Using the menu bar in your client window, click on "View", then "Camera controls" to make visible the controls for operating camera angles etc. Practice using different gestures and moving around (you can cue-up gestures etc. to play in a sequence). Then, click on "File" in your client window menu bar, and select the movie option close to the end of the drop-down menu. This will ask yu where you want to save you movie to and start recording etc. Use your hot keys for quicker recording control (on/off etc.): command or control key + shift key + A. Option 2. Download Fraps (if you're using a PC or iShowU (if using a Mac) and use this software to record your on-screen Second Life action. For example, have Fraps running in the background, hit the "F9" key when you're ready to record (ad hit F9 again to stop recording), and you will see red numbers tick over on your SL screen to show that the scene is being recorded. the free version of Fraps will record in 30-second chunks.
Then, you piece together and edit your footage in your movie editing software.
